The links that appear under "Galleries" to the left, contain images of Isfahan, Shiraz, Parsa (Persepolis), and a handful of other historical sites in Iran. Rather than containing a survey of Iranian art and architecture (a hopelessly ambitious undertaking given the thousands of archaeological sites that exist in Iran) these pages present a small sampling of the countless many cultural jewels that comprise the physical legacy of Iran's past.
Chogha Zanbil (image AI8), Parsa (images AI2, AI3, AI5, AI7), and the Royal Square in Isfahan (images MI2, MI3, MI4, MI6) have been designated World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
