| About Partow: | ||||||
| In persian the word "partow" refers to rays of light or more generally to light itself. The name was chosen with a view to the central role of light as the raw material of photography.
The ibex, or wild goat, design from which Partow's logo is derived appears on painted pottery of the neolithic period from southwestern Iran. The pottery was brought to light near the turn of the century during the course of excavations on the great Acropole mound at Susa. The animal and vegetal motifs that appear on this pottery (rendered in highly stylized and abstract forms) are an indication of the interest with which the inhabitants of Susa beheld the natural world that surrounded them. They are, as well, a measure of the striking way in which these ancient artisans gave voice to their creative impulses. The ibex was chosen as Partow's logo for its beauty and purity of design. |
